MOTIVATION! “Set your alarm for 6am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head, get up and start your day. Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt. Add some granola. Now go outside. Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it. When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry. Look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? If you do, good for you. Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this every day and pretty soon you will. Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run. How badly do you want it?”
Well, due to fall break, my week starts tomorrow. Only one class thankfully, but it’s from 8-12 so…make of that what you will.
I received a present from my big this evening. It’s a stuffed lion. Adorable. I’ll try to take a picture at some point but I’m too lazy to do it right now. Can’t wait for Thursday so I can figure out who she is!
Speaking of lazy…I need to do something. I know I said that like a month ago. But, not kidding. I started trying to be healthy but then I ran out of motivation and got really really busy. Then I realized I spend an awful lot of my time just surfing the net. Time that I could be spending on a treadmill or something. Plus, there’s a gym downstairs in my dorm. So…I’d like to start making healthier choices like…right now. I wish I had better tape because I’d love to post motivational things around my desk area or even my bed.
There are some things I need to figure out though such as what on earth is healthy on campus that I can eat that actually tastes good? I also don’t like green tea so I’m wondering if I should either a) force myself to like it or b) just worry about drinking more water.
My goals for this week:
I think these are pretty basic goals. And they seem good for a beginner. I’ve also heard that rewarding yourself for meeting goals is a good idea. Here’s my issue…I have no idea what I’d do for that. Any thoughts?
This! Oh man! I have a scar that goes a little inwards like his does. (I technically have two. One is way deeper than his and the other is just like it only more around my rib cage.) The fact that his scar gets less noticeable really should be the inspiration that I need to get moving.
…I’m working on it. Darn college got super busy. I hardly have time to sleep much less anything else.
no more excuses.
Currently this only works for me if I don’t sleep at all….erg…the life of a college student.

Ta da. Here is the view from my desk. Yay! The top bunk is mine. I love it.
So far college has been pretty awesome. My roommate is really nice plus I’ve been hanging out with a bunch of my friends lately. (Yay for not being a hermit in my room!)
Went to a special after-hours sale at Target last night. Tried some vitamin water for the first time. I actually think it’s really really good. So…I’m going to try to drink more vitamin water and less Mountain Dew. We’ll see how far that goes.
Purchased all of my books yesterday which was actually kind of exciting. I’m ready to start the school year.
Also finally did my Inspiratia-wall! Basically, I wrote quotes, bible verses, and song lyrics that really inspire me. Or, I find them totally awesome. Usually the former though. Hence the name of the wall. I can’t seem to get them to stick to the wall with scotch tape so…I might have to try something later.
Oh! I did discover that Noyer (the complex that I live in) has a deli! So I definitely had a roast beef sandwich today and it was delicious. Can’t say I’m not extremely excited about that discovery. So I felt pretty healthy with my sandwich and vitamin water earlier this afternoon. Not entirely sure what I’ll have for dinner yet though.
Still sorting out some kind of schedule for myself. Yeah, all my classes are in there, but I’m also adding things like my shift at the Daily News, bible study, and Cru. I’d also like to add “library study time” and “gym time.” I’d really like to get in shape or at least be able to breathe a little easier. So, we’ll see.
There’s a Pepsi truck outside of my window (I can see the loading dock for the dining hall) and on the door, there’s a winking face. It’s slightly creepy.
Anyway, that’s all for now!
